In creating "Oath to Embers," my aim was to pivot away from this norm. I envisioned a game where success or failure hinges not on sheer chance but on player skill and decision-making. If I lose, I want to understand why, and if I win, I want to earn it—not just stumble into victory.
A Story that Shapes you
Traditional RPGs often boil down to a cycle: fight, gain XP, level up, repeat. Interaction typically revolves around transactional quests that offer little in terms of character development. But what if the choices you make in a game change your character in meaningful ways? Not just through the acquisition of gold or XP, but through experiences and memories that shape the character based on their struggles, past traumas, and moral dilemmas. "Oath to Embers" aims to tell such stories, where personal growth is as integral as any physical reward.
